The Quinta do Gradil dates from the 15th century and is located next to the village of Vilar.

This estate, that is perhaps the oldest in the Municipality, must have been a property of considerable dimensions, as it was singled out in a royal grant document.

The Quinta’s architectural trace that can be seen nowadays appears to date back to the 18th century. It’s composed by a housing core with a layout that presents geometrical characteristics, as its 36 rooms are equally distributed throughout three floors.

Quinta do Gradil has, attached to its living space, an ample and majestic chapel. Also has an agricultural area of around 200 hectares, dedicated to forestry and the production of fruit and wine.
