The oral tradition of the county is full of stories and beliefs.
TRADITION 'PINTAR E CANTAR OS REIS'
This tradition, a ritual with medieval origin that combines Arabian influences with the pagan rituals from the Roman Era, lasts until the presente day in the mountainous villages of Avenal and Pereiro, that on the night of the 5th to the 6th of January will, indepently of being cold or rainy, celebrate the Pintar e Cantar dos Reis.
