Speleology
There are in Serra de Montejunto near a hundred caves that make it possible the practice of speleology, the visit to these spaces are an unforgettable experience.
The caves are an important part of the rich heritage of this natural area, which retain recorded and partially preserved many fundamental aspects of the history of geological and biological evolution of Earth and of our passage through it.
There are several dozens of caves distributed throughout the mountain, being the most of them small or with vertical development, presenting therefore reduced tourist interest. Its exploration and study are reserved to specialists, given the difficulties and dangers they present. For this reason, the visitation by people who do not know the basic techniques of underground exploration should be performed only in the company of specialists duly accredited.
